Leave a Team in an Organization

Who can use this feature?

✅Users on the Figma Organization Plan
✅Members can Leave any Team of which they are a Member
Team Owners of a Secret Team can't leave a Team. They can Transfer Ownership, Move Files and Projects or Delete the Team.

If you no longer want to be part of a Team, you can leave it.

When you leave a Team we will:

  • Revoke your access to that Team. This includes any Files, Project, Fonts and Libraries.
  • Transfer ownership of any Projects or Files you created to the Team Owner.
  • If you're the last member of the Team, we will delete the Team. This will delete any Files and Projects. This is a permanent action and cannot be undone.

If you are the Team Owner, we recommend you Change the Team Owner before leaving the Team.

You can leave a Team from a few places:

Note: If the Team was an Open Team, you will still be able to Search for and View Files from this Team.

Team Page

  1. Open the Team Page in the File Browser.
  2. In the Toolbar, click the arrow next to the Team Name.
  3. Select Leave Team from the options.
  4. We will remove you from the Team. You will no longer be able to access any Files, Libraries or Fonts shared within that Team.

Tip! You can also right-click on the Team name in the File Browser. This will open the same menu. Select Leave Team from the options.

Organization Page

  1. Open the Organization Page in the File Browser
  2. Find the Team you would like to leave. Hover over the "Joined" button.
  3. Click the Leave button when it appears.
  4. We will remove you from the Team. You will no longer be able to access any Files, Libraries or Fonts shared within that Team.

Admin Console

✅Only Organization Admins can access the Admin Console

  1. Open the Admin Console.
  2. Navigate to the Teams tab.
  3. Click Leave Team next to the Team.

Note: When there are no longer any members within a Secret team, an Admin will be able to join that team. They can then view, access and delete it.
