• Upgrade to a paid plan

  With a paid plan, you get more of what you already love about Figma: extra design and collaboration features, as well as more advanced administration and security capabilities to help you grow Figma with your organization.

  Upgrade your plan

  Professional Organization Enterprise

  When you upgrade a team to the Professional plan, your subscription is calculated based on the number of paid seats in that team.

  At the time you upgrade, you can choose how many Figma and FigJam seats you’d like to buy. You can add or remove paid seats at any point during your subscription term.

  Note: Anyone with can edit access or an existing admin or owner of the team can upgrade the team.

  1. From the file browser, click on the name of the team you’d like to upgrade.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Click Upgrade your plan.
  4. Select Upgrade to Professional.
  5. Confirm the number of paid editor seats for both Figma design and FigJam.
  6. If applicable, confirm your billing currency.
  7. Select Annual or Monthly billing.
  8. Enter your payment details in the fields provided. You'll need:
     1. Your 16 digit Credit Card Number, Expiry Date, and CSV.
     2. Your Postal Address. This should match the address that your credit card is registered under.
  9. Click Next: Review to view a summary of your plan details.
  10. Click Accept Terms and Upgrade. Figma will charge your credit card and update your account immediately.

  Note: We only support payment by credit card on the Professional plan. Payment via Paypal, ACH or wire transfer isn’t currently available.

  You can upgrade to the Organization plan by yourself, or by getting in touch with our sales team.

  Depending on which approach is right for you, you can get in touch with our sales team or follow the instructions below to upgrade on your own.

  Upgrade on your own

  Before you begin:

  • Only team admins or owners can upgrade a Professional team. Any editor can upgrade a Starter team.
  • You’ll need a Figma account with a work email address to upgrade to the Organization plan. For example: [yourname]@examplecompany.com .
  • During the upgrade, you can migrate any teams you’re an admin of into the new Figma organization. If you’re an admin of a team that isn’t listed as an option to migrate, double check whether your account in that team is an admin and uses the same work email address.
  • If any teams included in the upgrade are subscribed to the Professional plan, Figma will automatically refund the remainder of the subscription(s). This applies to both monthly or annual subscriptions. The pro-rated amount will be refunded as a separate payment to the credit card registered to the Professional team. This can take around 5 to 10 days to show up on your bank statement.
  • If you migrate teams with people that have email addresses from other companies, their accounts will automatically get converted into guests in your new Figma organization. These guests will keep the same level of permissions in the files, projects, and teams they have access to.
  • When you upgrade, Figma will move your existing teams into a new Figma organization. During this time, you won't be able to access your existing teams. This process usually takes a couple of minutes, but can take longer for teams with hundreds of members or lots of resources. We recommend you set aside an hour for this task and choose a time which will cause minimal disruption to your team(s).
  • You will be able to create new teams or upgrade other teams once your Organization plan subscription is active.

  Upgrade to the Organization plan

  1. In the file browser, click on one of the teams you'd like to upgrade.
  2. Go to the Billing tab.
  3. Under Plan summary, click the Upgrade plan to Organization link.
  4. Click Choose Organization from the plan options.
  5. Select which teams you want to include in your new Figma organization. You can click on each team to review the editors and viewers in that team.
  6. Review the full list of organization members in the right sidebar. People with email domains that don’t match yours will be tagged as guests.
  7. Confirm the domain, number of paid editor seats, and subtotal and click Next: Organization details.
  8. Enter additional details about your organization and click Next: Payment.
  9. Review the details of your subscription and click Complete Purchase.

  Note: You can add new paid users to your organization during your subscription. Figma accounts for paid users added during a subscription term using a quarterly true-up process.

  The Enterprise plan offers our most advanced security and administration features. To upgrade to the Enterprise plan, please get in touch with our sales team.

• Manage billing on the Professional plan

  Before you start

  Who can use this feature

  Only team admins can manage billing on the Professional plan.

  The Professional plan includes a single upgraded Figma team. Your bill is based on how many people in the team have a paid role in Figma design and FigJam.

  Note: Figma sends a reminder three days before your invoice date. You can adjust the number of paid and free seats in your team during this time.

  Understand your invoice

  View your invoice

  Team admins can find their team's plan summary, subscription details, and invoice history in the Billing tab.

  1. Click on the name of your Professional team in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Billing tab.
  3. Choose an invoice to review.

  Your invoice will show you the number of paid Figma and FigJam users you have been charged for.

  Why do I get a separate monthly invoice if I’m on annual billing?

  If you add new paid users to your team during an annual subscription, Figma will charge you a separate monthly subscription for those users.

  • When you begin or renew an annual subscription, you purchase a set number of paid users for the year.
  • When you add extra paid users throughout your annual subscription term, we’ll charge you a monthly subscription for just those users. This helps you manage the cost of Figma if you have a portion of users who only need to pay for Figma for a short time.

  Tip: You can simplify your billing by converting monthly users to annual users.

  Invoice examples

  You purchase 15 Figma design seats and 30 FigJam seats on the Professional plan on annual billing.

  We’ll charge you a single invoice each year for US$3,240. This breaks down to 15 Figma design seats x $144 per user per year + 30 FigJam seats x $36 per user per year.

  You purchase 15 Figma design seats and 30 FigJam seats on the Professional plan on annual billing.

  When you subscribe, we’ll charge you an annual invoice for US$3,240. This breaks down to 15 Figma design seats x $144 per user per year + 30 FigJam seats x $36 per user per year.

  In your first month, you add 3 Figma design seats and 3 FigJam seats.

  In your second month, we’ll charge you a monthly invoice for US$60. This breaks down to 3 Figma design seats x $15 per user per month + 3 FigJam seats x $5 per user per month.

  You purchase 15 Figma design seats and 30 FigJam seats on the Professional plan on monthly billing.

  We’ll charge you a monthly invoice for US$375. This breaks down to 15 Figma design seats x $15 per user per month + 30 FigJam seats x $5 per user per month.

  Manage paid users

  Add paid users during your billing period

  You can add paid users at any time during your subscription. There are two main ways to add paid users:

  Change a person’s role from Viewer to Editor

  1. Click on the name of your Professional team in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Members tab.
  3. From the dropdown menu next to someone’s Design or FigJam role, change the role to Editor.

  Purchase paid seats without assigning them to an existing user

  1. Click on the name of your Professional team in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Billing tab.
  3. Select Add additional seats

  Note: If you have a mix of annual seats and monthly seats in your account, clicking Add additional seats will convert monthly seats into annual seats.

  Convert monthly users to annual users on an annual subscription

  If you added paid users during the term of an annual subscription, you’ll have the option to convert those users from monthly billing to annual billing.

  1. On the Billing tab, see how many monthly users you have for both Figma design and FigJam.
  2. Go to the Settings tab and select Add additional seats.
  3. Add the number of Figma design and FigJam users you’d like to convert to annual billing. If you add more seats than you need, Figma will show you a label that says 1 unused Figma design seat will be added or 1 unused FigJam seat will be added.
  4. Click Add annual seats

  Once you convert your users, you’ll receive one more invoice the following month. After that point – assuming no users are added – you won’t receive another invoice until your annual subscription renews.

  Tip: You can verify whether your monthly seats have become annual seats by looking at the Billing tab and seeing whether or not there are any monthly users listed. You can also click on See cost breakdown for your final monthly invoice to see the pro-rated cost for converting monthly users to annual.

  Downgrade paid users to free during your billing period

  You can downgrade users during your billing cycle by changing their role.

  1. Click on the name of your Professional team in the sidebar.
  2. Select the Members tab.
  3. From the dropdown menu next to someone’s Design or FigJam role, change the role to Viewer-restricted. They are now a free account.

  Note: We won’t issue a prorated refund when you downgrade a user. However, someone else at your company can use the paid seat once it becomes available.

• Manage billing on the Organization and Enterprise plans

  Who can use this feature

  Supported on the Organization and Enterprise plans.

  Only organization admins can manage an organization's billing, members, and true-ups.

  On the Enterprise plan, workspace admins can manage members in their workspace.

  The Organization and Enterprise plans have an annual subscription with true-ups every three months. True-ups account for any paid seats added or removed during the year.

  Understanding true-ups

  With the Organization and Enterprise plan, you can:

  • Buy a set number of paid seats for the year.
  • Add additional paid seats at any time.
    • If a person with the Viewer role performs an upgrade action, they automatically upgrade to a paid Editor role. These Editors use Figma for free until your next true-up, removing friction for teams sharing work and lowering your average price per seat.
  • Decide during the true-up period whether to keep and pay a pro-rated amount for your additional editors – or downgrade them to a free seat.

  Note: You can avoid unexpected paid seats using the Viewer-restricted role.

  • On the Organization plan, we recommend manually changing new Viewers to the Viewer-restricted role.
  • On the Enterprise plan, you can make new members Viewer-restricted by default.

  Four weeks before the true-up, Figma will send an email reminder to the organization's billing contacts. This shows the number of editor roles added since the last billing date. Figma will send further reminders at two weeks, then three days before the true-up is due.

  Figma will also send reminders at 14 days and five days before the annual subscription is due to renew. This gives organization admins time to adjust the amount of editors they want to include in their annual subscription.

  Manage users during a true-up

  During the two week period before Figma issues your true-up invoice, you can:

  • Review the list of paid seats in your account
  • Downgrade anyone who shouldn’t have a paid seat
  • Lock in your invoice amount

  Review new users added since your last invoice

  Tip: On the Enterprise plan, workspace admins can help out during the true-up period by reviewing and managing paid seats in workspaces they manage.

  1. From the file browser, click Admin settings.
  2. Make sure the name of the workspace you want to review is at the top-left of Admin settings.
  3. Select the Members tab.
  4. On the Unassigned tab, assign members to your workspace and click Looks good (optional).
  5. Click the name of the workspace to the left of Unassigned.
  6. Click the Workspace column heading to sort the table by people most recently added to the workspace (optional).
  7. For any given member, you can update their Figma design or FigJam role to either Editor (paid) or Viewer-restricted (free).
  8. Once you've managed people's roles in your workspace, click Looks good in the true-up banner.

  1. From the file browser, click Admin settings.
  2. Select the Members tab.
  3. At the top of the page you can view a summary of the current true-up, including the number of new Figma design and FigJam paid seats since your last invoice.
  4. To review a list of specific people who have upgraded their account, check the New since last invoice box in the list of filters.

  Tip: Click the timestamp in the Last active column to review:

  • The date and action that led to a person becoming a paid seat in Figma design and FigJam.
  • The date and description of the last five activities taken by the person. 

  Downgrade paid users to free

  1. From the file browser, click on Admin settings.
  2. Select the Members tab.
  3. For any given member, you can change their Figma design or FigJam role from Editor to Viewer-restricted.

  Note: It’s not possible to downgrade someone to a Viewer role, since a person with a Viewer role can become a paid Editor role by upgrading their account on their own. With the Viewer-restricted role, a person will need to ask for permission to upgrade their account. On the Enterprise plan, you can set default roles to prevent unexpected upgrades.

  Lock in your invoice

  After reviewing paid seats in your account, an organization admin can finalize your invoice for the upcoming quarter. Any new editors added after finalizing your invoice – and throughout the upcoming quarter – will get included in the next quarterly true-up.

  

  1. From the file browser, click on Admin settings.
  2. Select the Members tab.
  3. In the true-up summary at the top of the page, click Confirm and finalize invoice.
  4. Click on the Billing tab to see a confirmation that your invoice has been finalized.

  What happens if I didn’t make adjustments before my invoice was finalized?

  We are unable to adjust invoices after they have been issued. This is part of our standard terms of service.

  Make a payment

  For true-ups and annual renewal, Figma will use the payment method you chose when you upgraded to the Organization or Enterprise plan. If you need to update your payment method, please reach out to our support team.

  If you have a purchase order you'd like to include on your invoice, please send it to our support team. You can submit as many purchase orders as you need within a quarter. Figma will only generate one invoice for every true-up.

• Manage your billing details

  Supported on Professional, Organization, and Enterprise plans.

  Only organization admins can manage billing for an organization.

  Only team admins can manage billing for a team on the Professional plan.

  View billing history

  Professional Organization and Enterprise

  1. Open the team in the file browser.
  2. Click the Billing tab.
  3. Find the invoice you want to download in the list. The most recent invoice is at the top.
  4. Click the View invoice link to open the invoice in Stripe.
  5. Click the View invoice details to view a detailed invoice.
  6. Click Download to save a copy of the invoice.

  View details of the annual subscription, view and export previous invoices, and see the expected balance of any upcoming true-ups.

  1. Select  Admin Settings in the file browser.
  2. Select Billing at the top of the page.
  3. Find the invoice you want to download in the list. The most recent invoice is at the top.

  Add custom information to your invoices

  In some cases, you may need to add extra information to your invoices, such as a Trading Name, Company, Address or Tax ID.

  If you need additional information to appear on your invoices, please contact our support team and include the information you’d like to appear on your invoice. We'll do our best to accommodate your request.

  Change payment method

  Update a credit card

  Professional Organization and Enterprise

  1. Click on the team in the file browser.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Click Change payment method.
  4. Enter the new credit or debit card details in the fields provided.
  5. Click Use this card to update.

  Note: Figma supports payment by credit card on the Professional plan. Payment via Paypal, ACH or wire transfer isn’t currently available.

  To update the credit card on file, please get in touch with our support team.

  Switch to invoicing

  Figma supports payment via invoice on the Organization and Enterprise plan.

  If your organization meets the minimum criteria, you can switch to payment by invoice. If you’d like to pay by invoice, please get in touch with our support team.

  Add or update a billing contact

  In Figma, billing contacts receive all billing updates and notifications.

  Professional Organization and Enterprise

  By default, Figma sets the owner of the team as the billing contact. If you want billing reminders to go to someone else, you can update the billing contact. This person doesn’t need to have a Figma account.

  1. Click on the team in the file browser.
  2. Select the Billing tab.
  3. Under the Invoices sent to heading, click Change billing contact.
  4. Enter the email address in the field provided.
  5. Click Submit to update your billing contact.

  Companies on the Organization or Enterprise plans can add multiple billing contacts. Figma sends billing notifications, such as notifications for true-ups or outstanding payments, to every billing contact.

  You can add anyone's email address as the billing contact. This includes people without Figma accounts, as well as email aliases like accounting@figma.com. However, only organization admins can manage new paid seats or review quarterly true-ups.

  To add or remove billing contacts:

  1. Select  Admin settings in the file browser.
  2. Select Billing at the top of the page.
  3. Under Billing contacts, click Change contacts.
  4. Add or remove email addresses for your billing contacts, separated by a comma.
  5. Click Submit when finished.
• Cancel or downgrade Professional plan

  Who can use this feature

  Supported on the Professional plan.

  Only owners or admins of team can cancel the team's subscription.

  Caution: This article covers the process of cancelling a team subscription in Figma. If you don't want to use Figma anymore, you will also need to delete your Figma account. Learn how to delete your Figma account →

  Cancel your Professional plan subscription to downgrade to a free Starter team. You'll need to cancel your subscription before you can delete a team on the Professional plan. You can still access your team files and projects until the end of your billing period.

  At the end of your billing period, Figma will downgrade your team to a free Starter team. In a Starter team, you can create up to 3 FigJam files and 3 Figma design files with a maximum of 3 pages per design file. You can also invite as many editors or viewers as you want.

  If you want to continue using Figma on the free Starter team, we recommend that you use this time to:

  • Manage and remove extra projects
  • Download copies of your account invoices
  • Move files to another team or into your drafts
  • Delete your team (if required)

  Note: If you have more than 3 files when you're downgraded, Figma will prevent you from being able to edit your files. To edit those files, move them to your drafts or another team. Learn how to move files and projects →

  Refund policy

  If for any reason you’re unhappy with Figma, please let us know. Contact us via the inside the app, or email support@figma.com. Give us a detailed account of what happened, and we’ll work with you to make sure you have the best experience possible.

  Payments for Figma subscriptions with Figma Design and/or FigJam seats are non-refundable unless you live in the E.U. or Turkey, in which case you are eligible for a refund only if you cancel your subscription within 14 days of purchase.

  Cancel Professional plan

  1. Open the Figma file browser.
  2. Click on the team name in the sidebar
  3. Select the Settings tab.
  4. In the Plan and billing section, click Cancel plan.
  5. Figma will ask you for a cancellation reason. Select the most appropriate reason and click Confirm Cancellation.
  6. Click Finish Cancellation to cancel your plan.

  You can still access your files and projects for the remainder of the billing period. At the end of your billing period, Figma will downgrade your team to a free Starter team.

  If you have more than one project, Figma will lock your team, which will prevent you from editing your files. To edit those files, you'll need to reorganize your team members, files, and projects so they are under those limits.
