Add, manage, or renew annual subscriptions

On the Professional plan, you can choose from a monthly or annual subscription. Team admins can add, manage, or renew their annual subscription from the team’s Settings.

The Add additional seats setting allows team admins to:

• Switch from a monthly subscription to an annual subscription
• Add extra seats to your annual subscription
• Convert monthly seats to annual
• Update your annual subscription and purchase seats for the next billing period

  Add an annual subscription

  If you are on a monthly plan, Figma will bill you for your plan every month. Figma bases your plan price on the number of full Figma Design and FigJam seats currently on your Professional team.

  You can also switch to an annual subscription. This allows you to pay for an entire year of Figma upfront.

  Note: When you switch to an annual subscription, Figma will charge you for your annual subscription on your next monthly billing date.

  1. From the file browser, switch to your Professional team in the sidebar and click Admin.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. In Plan section, select Add additional seats: 
  4. View the current number of paid seats included in your subscription and the expected Subscription cost.
  5. If you plan on adding more collaborators to your team, you can Add more seats to your annual plan.
  6. Enter the number in the field provided. Click outside the field to apply. You can still add extra paid seats to your subscription throughout the billing period.
  7. Click the Accept terms and upgrade button to complete the process. Figma will charge you for the annual subscription at your next monthly billing date

  Add monthly paid seats to your annual subscription

  Your annual subscription covers the number of full Figma Design and FigJam seats you had when you first upgraded your team.

  You can still add more full Figma Design and FigJam seats to your team. Figma will charge you for those seats on a separate monthly subscription.

  You'll have both an annual subscription, and a monthly subscription for any extra paid seats. We refer to this as "co-terming". You can see how many monthly seats you’re paying for in the Billing tab of your team.

  To simplify your account admin, or to expand your team as it evolves, you can add more full seats to your annual subscription. You can use this process to add any monthly seats you’re currently paying for, or plan for future growth.

  Figma will charge you a pro-rated fee for each full seat. This covers that seat for the remainder of the annual billing period.

  Note: This is a manual process. You need to repeat this process every time you want to add extra paid seats to your annual subscription.

  1. From the file browser, switch to your Professional team in the sidebar and click Admin.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. In Plan and billing section, select Add additional seats: 
  4. Use the and buttons to adjust the number of full seats you want to add. You can add seats for Figma Design and FIgJam separately.
  5. Figma shows the total number of full seats for each product, a breakdown of the expected costs, and if any seats aren't being used
  6. Click Add annual seats to add those seats to your annual subscription. Figma will charge the pro-rated fee on your next billing date.

  Renew annual subscription

  On an annual subscription, Figma will send any billing contacts a reminder 30 days before the renewal date. You can use the renewal process to:

  • Purchase extra seats for your next year of Figma
  • Remove any members who don't need access
  • Cancel your subscription to prevent it from renewing
  1. From the file browser, switch to your Professional team in the sidebar and click Admin.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. In Plan and billing section, select Change annual subscription:
  4. Figma will show you the total number of full seats included in your subscription and the total Subscription cost.
  5. Add more seats to your annual plan if you plan on adding or removing collaborators. 
  6. Enter the updated number in the field. Click outside of the field to apply.
  7. Click the Accept terms and upgrade button to complete the process.
  8. Figma will update the number of paid seats included in your annual plan. You won't be charged until your actual annual billing date.

  Caution: If you don't make any changes to your plan, your annual subscription will auto-renew. You will need to cancel your subscription for the Professional plan to prevent your annual subscription from renewing. Learn how to cancel your team plan →
