Invite to projects, files, and prototypes
Who can use this feature
Supported on any team or plan.
You can share files from your drafts or from projects in a team.
At Figma, we encourage collaboration throughout the entire design and development process. Invite collaborators to your projects, files, and prototypes when you want to:
- Brainstorm new projects with your team
- Share work in progress with a manager or client
- Get input from your copywriter or your Product Marketing team
- Test a prototype with a user
- Handoff final designs to a developer
Adjust roles and permissions to control how collaborators can interact with your designs and prototypes.

Projects
Team members can access projects based on their team permissions. You can also invite people to a specific project, which is great for inviting collaborators to a specific set of files.
Inviting someone to a project will give them access to any FigJam files, Figma design files, and any prototypes in that project. Guide to sharing and permissions →
-
In Starter and Education teams, a person's team, project, or file permissions will determine if they can edit the resources you're inviting them to.
-
In Professional or Organization teams, a person's FigJam or Figma design role determines if they can edit files. Invite people at the maximum access level they need on that resource, then control their access to FigJam and Figma design files using roles.
