Who can use this feature
Only organization admins can approve, install, and uninstall plugins for the organization.
Plugins are third-party scripts or applications that extend the functionality of an application. Figma plugins only run in the Editor and let you to perform tasks within files.
In a Figma Organization, you have access to extra features that control how members use and share plugins.
- Share both private and public plugins within your organization.
- Approve plugins that members can use within the organization space.
- Install or uninstall plugins for everyone in the organization.
Private and public plugins
Organizations will often have their own systems and tools they have developed. They can include private information or data that members can't share outside the organization.
Figma supports private plugins in an organization. This allows other members of the organization to use these plugins, without having to share them with the rest of the Figma Community.
- Any member of an organization can make and share a private plugin.
- Only Team admins can share publish plugins to a team's public profile.
- Only organization admins can share publish plugins to a organization's public profile.
Note: An organization admin can change a plugin's access, at any time. This allows you to update a public plugin so that it's only shared with the organization, or share a popular private plugin with the wider Figma Community.
To update plugin access you can publish an update to the plugin. Update the Publish to setting to change who can access the plugin. If you're changing a plugin from private to public, it will need to go through our review process.
