Group objects in FigJam
Grouping allows you to combine FigJam objects and treat them as a single object. Use groups to organize and keep related items together while collaborating with your team in a file.
Create a group
Once you have two or more objects selected, you can group objects a few different ways:
- Use keyboard shortcut:
- Mac: ⌘ Command G
- Windows: Control G
- Right-click and select Group selection
- Use the Group selection quick action:
- Use ⌘ Command / or Control / to access the quick actions menu.
- Search for Group selection.
Ungroup objects
You can ungroup objects a few different ways:
- Use the keyboard shortcut:
- Mac: ⌘ Command Shift G or ⌘ Command Delete
- Windows: Control Shift G or Control Backspace
- Right-click and select Ungroup
Duplicate objects in a group
Select an object and use the keyboard shortcut to duplicate it:
- Mac: ⌘ Command D
- Windows: Control D
You can also hold down Alt or Option while clicking and dragging an object to duplicate it.
Add objects to a group
Besides duplication, there is no way to directly add an object to a group in FigJam. Instead, you can:
- Ungroup the current group of objects.
- Create a new selection of objects, including the new object to be added.
- Group the new selection.
A group's bounding box will shrink and expand to accommodate all objects within the group.
Remove objects from a group
To remove an object from a group:
- Select the object you want to remove.
- Use ⌘ Command X or Control X to cut out the selection.
- Paste the object outside of the group.
