About this video
Join Katie Chambers, Advocate at Figma, as she walks you through the basics for the Content Management System (CMS) in Figma Sites, including how to:
- Create a CMS collection, which is a set of fields and items grouped by a topic. Think of a collection like a spreadsheet of your content. Read more about creating CMS collections in the Guide to Figma Sites CMS →
- Create a new CMS collection using a CSV (comma-separated value) file, or with a sample CMS collection, to get started quickly.
- Identify CMS pages, which are webpages that acts as a template. Each item in a collection gets its own URL, with content dynamically inserted into the page. Like a written blog CMS page that has an identical layout across all blog posts, but the content they contain is different for each one.
- Use CMS lists, which are repeating design blocks that displays multiple items from one collection in a webpage.
- Connect CMS fields to design layers through Connect view.
- Get started quickly using a template and blocks.
- Edit CMS content from the CMS panel in the right sidebar.
- Switch between different collections on your webpages.
About the Figma Sites CMS
The Figma Sites Content Management System, or CMS, helps you organize, structure, and scale the content for different kinds of websites.
You can create your content directly inside of the Figma Sites CMS, then connect your collection to different parts of your design. With your CMS connected, the content from your CMS collection will appear on the canvas, and any updates will appear immediately—giving you instant feedback on your changes.
A CMS is especially helpful for websites like blogs, portfolios, product catalogs, and events pages. These types of websites often include similar, repeating content—like multiple blog posts, or lists of events happening in your area. Using Sites CMS lets you connect each of your blog pages to your collection that contains all important information for that blog, like its title, hero image, author, and body content.
