Troubleshooting audio
- Make sure your input and output devices are plugged in and available.
- Leave and rejoin the conversation.
- Refresh your tab or restart your app.
- Update your browser or desktop app.
- Make sure your internet connection is strong.
- If possible, disconnect and reconnect your input and output devices.
Microphone and speaker issues
Audio quality is poor, can't hear, or can't be heard
If you're experiencing poor audio quality (such as crackling, delays, or robotic voices), or if no one can hear you or you can't hear others, try the following:
- Refresh the tab
- Make sure you have a strong network connection
- Update your browser or desktop app to the latest version
- Update your computer's operating system to the latest version
- If possible, disconnect your speaker device and reconnect
Microphone volume is too low
If your microphone volume is too quiet relative to your volume settings, try the following:
- Refresh the tab
- Quit and restart your browser or desktop app
- Use a different input device
If low volume persists, try restarting your computer.
No speakers or microphones detected
If Figma isn't able to detect your speaker or microphone device, try the following:
- Refresh the tab
- Make sure your input and output devices are connected and available.
- If possible, disconnect and reconnect your speaker and microphone devices.
- Check your browser or operating system settings to make sure you've allowed permission for those devices to be used.
Network issues
Disconnected, reconnecting warning
If audio is Reconnecting... or Disconnected, it's possible that your network connection is poor. In this case, improve your network connection.
If your network connection is strong, try the following:
- Refresh the tab
- Leave and rejoin the conversation, file, or both
If none of the above work, check the status page for potential active issues.
Error leaving audio conversation
If you're having trouble leaving an audio conversation:
- Try again
- Refresh the tab
- Improve your network connection
If none of the above work, check the status page for potential active issues.
Other issues
"Something went wrong!"
If you receive a "Something went wrong! Please try again" error message, try the following:
- Refresh the tab
- Rejoin the call
Headphone icon disabled or doesn't appear in toolbar
If the headphone icon is disabled or doesn't appear in the toolbar, try the following:
- Make sure you have permission to access the file
- Make sure you're signed in to Figma
- Check that you have can view or can edit access to the file
- Check that the file lives in Professional team or Org space
- If the file is in an Organization, audio may be disabled. Talk to your Organization admin.
Audio indicator persists in tab
If you've left a conversation but the audio indicator persists in the tab, try refreshing your tab.
