Use SCIM to manage how many paid AI credits each person in your organization can use. You can set a custom limit, block paid-credit use, allow unlimited use, or have someone follow your organization’s defaults.
Note: This feature is rolling out gradually starting October 22, 2026. If you don't see it in your account yet, it should appear in the next few days.
How SCIM-managed limits work
AI credit limits control access to your plan’s paid credits. They don’t change the credits included with a person’s seat. Learn more about how AI credits work.
You can use SCIM to:
- Set a custom limit: Choose how many paid credits a person can use during each month.
- Block paid credit use: Prevent a person from using paid credits after they use their included seat credits.
- Allow unlimited paid credit use: Remove the individual limit. The person can use paid credits while credits remain available in the applicable shared pools.
- Follow the default limit: Keep the person’s limit managed through SCIM while applying the organization’s default.
When you manage someone’s limit through SCIM, their identity provider becomes the source of truth. Admins can view the limit in Figma, but they can’t change it there. To change the limit, update it in your identity provider.
Supported values
Use the aiCreditLimit attribute to specify a person’s paid AI credit limit.
| Value | What it does |
|---|---|
Positive integer N
|
Sets a limit of N paid credits per month |
blocked or 0
|
Prevents the person from using paid credits. They can still use the credits included with their seat. |
inherit |
Applies the relevant default while keeping the limit managed through SCIM. |
unlimited |
Removes the individual cap. The person can use paid credits while credits remain available in the applicable shared pools. |
null |
Releases the person’s AI credit limit from SCIM management. |
How inherited limits work
When you set aiCreditLimit to inherit, Figma determines the person’s individual limit in this order:
- Use the billing group’s default, if configured.
- Otherwise, use the organization’s default, if configured.
- Otherwise, allow unlimited paid-credit use.
An explicit custom limit, blocked, or unlimited overrides the inherited default for that person.

Configure limits in your identity provider
Add the AI credit limit attribute to your identity provider’s provisioning configuration, then map it to the values you want to send to Figma.
Use these attribute details:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| External attribute name | aiCreditLimit |
| External namespace | urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:extension:figma:enterprise:2.0:User |
| Full attribute path | urn:ietf:params:scim:schemas:extension:figma:enterprise:2.0:User:aiCreditLimit |
| Data type for these configurations | String |
What happens when someone requests more credits
When someone with a SCIM-managed limit requests more credits, Figma shows instructions explaining that their organization manages the limit.
This flow doesn’t submit an AI credit request in Figma. Admins won’t receive the usual request to approve in Figma. Any resulting change to the person’s limit must be made through SCIM.
Stop managing a limit through SCIM
To release a person’s AI credit limit from SCIM management, send null for aiCreditLimit or remove the attribute.
