Facilitate meetings with spotlight
Before you start
Who can use this feature
Supported on any team or plan.
Anyone with can view access can use spotlight.
Spotlight lets you gather collaborators in a file to follow your view of the FigJam board. Use this to facilitate workshops, meetings, and team exercises.
Spotlight yourself
- Hover over your avatar in the toolbar and click to open the Multiplayer tools dropdown menu.
- Click Spotlight me.
Everyone currently viewing the board will be notified that you’d like them to follow you. They’ll have a few seconds to click Not now before automatically being shown your view of the file. Once you’re in the spotlight, you’ll see how many people are following you and your avatar in the toolbar will have a dashed border.
To end the spotlight, click Stop at the top of your canvas.
Share the spotlight
Presenting is more fun with others. Collaborators can take the spotlight at any time. When someone else clicks Spotlight me, everyone in the file is notified that someone else is asking to be followed.
You can also request that someone takes the spotlight by hovering over their avatar in the toolbar and clicking Ask to spotlight. The user is notified that you would like them to spotlight themselves and can accept or reject the request.
To show someone else’s view while keeping the spotlight, presenters can click on another collaborator’s avatar to follow them around the board or canvas while keeping the spotlight on themselves.
Follow another user on the board
Whenever you view a board, your avatar is added to the toolbar. This allows everyone to see who is currently accessing the board.
If you click on another person's avatar, you will begin to follow their view of the board. You won't be able to see their actions in the toolbar or anything outside of the board.
To stop following a user, click Stop following at the top of the board.
