Currently:
- In FigJam, Google Chat notifications aren't provided for tags in sticky notes. Notifications are otherwise supported.
- Figma Make doesn't have a comment feature, so comments, tags, and respond from Google Chat aren't provided by the integration.
Get started
- Get the Figma add-on for Google Workspace →
- In the Google Chat navigation panel, under Apps, click Figma.
- In the chat, connect your Figma account as prompted.
Use the Figma app in Google Chat
You can reply to file comments directly in Google Chat. You'll also get notified when:
- You're tagged in a file
- Someone replies to one of your comments
- New comments are made in files you've previously viewed
- You're invited to a new file, project, or team
By default, when you connect Figma and Google Chat, you're automatically enrolled to notifications for invitations, tags, comments, and replies. You can disable notifications by prompting "off" in the Google Chat Figma app.
Previews of Figma files appear in notifications and group chats. Google Chat supports previews for all of Figma's products.
To reply to a comment, click Reply in the notification and enter a response. Your reply is added directly to the comment in the Figma file.
Note: While a Figma file is open in your browser, you won't get Google Chat notifications for comments and tags for that file until it's closed.
