Vectorize an image
To convert a raster image into vector artwork:
- Select an image layer.
- In the secondary toolbar, click More and then select Vectorize. Depending on the complexity of the image, the vectorization process may take a few seconds.
- Once the image is converted, use the Recolor settings to refine the artwork:
- Full color: Retains the colors of the original image. Use the Number of colors setting to specify the number of colors used in the vectorized artwork.
- Grayscale: Converts the image to shades of gray. Use the Number of grays setting to specify the number of grays used in the vectorized artwork.
- Black and white: Converts the image to a two-tone vector using only black and white. Use the Threshold setting to control which parts of your artwork become black or white.
- Click the checkmark in the secondary toolbar to save your changes.
Note: Complex or low-resolution images may not vectorize well. Using Remove background or Boost resolution before vectorizing may improve your results.
