access to a team can create slide decks in that team.
Figma Slides decks are a specific type of file in Figma. You can access them alongside Figma Design files and FigJam boards in the file browser.
Create a slide deck in your drafts
Everyone with a Figma account has a drafts section in their team or organization. You can think of your drafts like a sketchbook or notebook, a place where you can explore early ideas and experiment with different concepts.
Drafts are private to you. Only people that you specifically invite to a draft will have access to the draft. There are no limits on how many slide decks you can create in your drafts.
There are a few ways to create a new slide deck in your drafts:
From the file browser
- Open the team or organization space you wish to create your deck and click Drafts in the file browser.
- Click Create new and then click Slide deck.
Visit the link
Type figma.com/slides/new in the address bar or visit figma.com/slides/new.
Create a slide deck in a team
If you have can edit access to a team, you can create new slide decks within that team. This will allow other members of the team to find and view them.
To create a slide deck in the team, you will need to choose which project the deck will live in. If you change your mind at any point, you can move files between projects and teams.
- From the file browser, navigate to the team.
- Open the project you want to create the deck in.
- Click Create new and then click Slide deck.
Choose a template
When you create a new slide deck, you’ll see the template picker. This is where you’ll browse for and add templates to your deck. To start your deck from scratch, select Start from scratch or click anywhere outside of the template picker to dismiss it.
Templates are curated palettes of colors, fonts, and slide layouts that give your deck a consistent look and feel. Unlike many presentation tools, you’re not limited to one template per deck. You can mix and match slide layouts from different templates to customize your deck exactly how you want.
Already designed your presentation in Figma Design? You can copy and paste existing presentations and other assets from Figma Design directly into Figma Slides. Learn more about accessing Figma Design assets in Figma Slides →
To add a template to your deck:
- In the template picker, browse through templates by category or use the search field to narrow down the choices.
- Click on a template to view the slide layouts included in that template.
- Double-click on a slide layout to add the layout to a new slide in your deck. You can add as many slide layouts from different templates as you want.
Tip: If you closed the template picker before selecting a template, or if you want to add slide layouts from other templates to your deck, click New slide in the left sidebar to open it again. Learn more about adding slide layouts to your deck →
Template styles
If you added a template to your deck, you can apply the template's color and text styles to any slide layout using the Template style setting in the right sidebar.Â
For example, say you want to use a specific slide layout from one template but prefer the look of the color and text styles of another. You can add both templates to your deck and change the template styles on the slide layouts so that everything matches.
Use template styles to do the following:
Change the template style for an existing slide: If you add slide layouts from multiple templates to your deck, you can change the template style on an existing slide by selecting a different template from the dropdown menu. This changes the text styles and color fills on the current slide.
Remix template colors: You can remix the color fills on the current slide by clicking Remix template colors next to the template name. This shuffles through the template’s different color styles, so you can pick just the right color combination while maintaining a cohesive design.
