Guide to the file browser
The file browser is where you can manage your account, organize your work, and browse the teams, projects, and files you have access to.
- Use the file browser on the Starter and Professional plans
- Use the file browser on the Organization and Enterprise plans
Tip: You can import a file into Figma by dragging and dropping it into the file browser, or clicking Import at the top right of the screen.

In Figma, projects and files are grouped within a team. People create teams to organize related work and collaborate with others in a single place. If your team name has a dropdown icon next to it, you have access to more than one team or organization. Click the icon to jump between them.
Your Drafts space contains any files you’ve created that haven’t been moved into a project.
Working in a draft is a great way to experiment with different ideas by yourself. If you choose to, you can always share your draft with other people, or move a file from your drafts into a project when you’re ready.
Drafts also contains a Deleted files tab. This is an archive of any files you have access to that have been deleted, including files you deleted yourself or files deleted by other people. To keep working on a deleted file, you can restore it to its original location, or duplicate it to your drafts.
A team in Figma is made up of projects. Click All projects to explore all the content you have access to in your team, including Design files, FigJam boards, prototypes, or libraries. Learn more about working in projects →
Note: Projects have three levels of access: can edit
, can view
, or invite-only
. You can only see invite-only projects if you are invited to them.
Trash is an archive of any deleted files you have access to. This includes files you moved to the trash, and files that you have access to that someone else moved to the trash. From the trash section, you can choose to permanently delete the file, or restore the file if you have changed your mind.
If you are a member of multiple teams or organizations, you’ll have a trash section for each team or organization.
Admin is where you manage your team, including people and their seats, billing, and settings.
To access Admin, you need to be a team admin on the Professional plan. Please note Admin isn’t available on the free Starter plan.
