Add a field to a collection
- Click CMS in the left navigation bar, then select the collection you want to edit.
- Click Edit fields at the top of the screen.
- Click Add field, then select the field type to add it to the collection.
Edit a field in a collection
- Click CMS in the left navigation bar, then select the collection you want to edit.
- Select Edit fields at the top right of the screen.
- Do one of the following:
Click the field you want to rename, then enter a new name.
Right-click a field name and select Duplicate field.
Duplicating a field adds a new field of the same name and type but doesn’t duplicate its content.
Note: You can’t duplicate the Title or Slug fields, as an item can only have one of each.
Right-click a field in the collection and select Delete field.
When you delete a field, any layers connected it will display their last known state and stop updating dynamically.
Create a new item in a collection
- Click CMS in the left navigation bar, then select a collection.
- Click New item at the top right of the screen.
Edit an item in a collection
You edit an item’s content in two ways:
Edit content in the table view
Editing in the table view is handy when you want to jump between items and quickly make edits.
- Click CMS in the left navigation bar, then select the Edit tab in the left sidebar.
- Select a collection in the left sidebar, then click an item’s row in the table.
- Edit the content in the relevant fields.
Edit content in Connect view
Editing in connect view is helpful when you’ve already connected content to layers on the canvas and want to make updates and immediately preview the results in the page.
- Click CMS in the left navigation bar, then select the Connect tab in the left sidebar.
- On the canvas, double click a layer connected to a CMS field.
- Edit the current item’s content in the right sidebar.
Tip: Want to edit a different item? If the item is in a CMS page, click the slug in the webpage header to switch to a different one.
Note: Follow these formatting rules when editing items:
- Title and plain text fields accept only unformatted text or numbers
- Date fields must contain a valid date
- Slugs can only contain lowercase letters, numbers, or hyphens
- Images must be in JPEG, PNG, or GIF formats; WebP and HEIC are currently not supported
- Links must contain a valid HTTPS URL
- Rich text fields support headings, images, links, lists—and more; learn more about working with rich text fields
