Who can use this feature
Available on all plans
Your team or organization’s AI toggle must be enabled to access Figma Make. Learn more.
Figma Make offers access to the latest AI technology through the experimental models setting. This is a great way to see how emerging models:
- Handle complex prompts and direction
- Generate more creative interactions and patterns
- Interpret design context differently
Exploring these differences allows you to compare results and discover new capabilities of AI.
Using an experimental model doesn’t change how you work in Figma Make—the menus, chat panel, and code view all remain the same.
Note: Experimental models may sometimes exhibit different behaviors than the default model, including unexpected errors, additional self-healing, or longer reasoning and generation.
Enable experimental models in Figma Make
There is currently only one experimental model available: Gemini 3 Pro.
- Open a new or existing Figma Make file.
- Click Settings in the upper-right corner.
- Select Experimental models.
- Under Experiment with AI Models, toggle on Gemini 3 Pro.
Once enabled, Gemini 3 Pro will be used for future prompts in your Figma Make file. You can switch back to the default model at any time by disabling the experimental model setting.
Note: Once enabled, everyone who chats with Figma AI in that file uses the experimental model. The setting stays active when a file is duplicated.
Tip: Figma displays a beaker icon above the chat when an experimental model is active.
