If you’ve received an AI promo code (for example, as part of a hackathon or event), you can redeem it to receive promotional AI credits. These credits can be used in any Figma AI features.

What are AI promo codes?
AI promo credits are temporary, promotional credits that:
- Are separate from your AI seat credits
- Expire on a specific date
- Are used first, before your other AI credits
These credits are typically provided for hackathons, workshops, or special events so participants can build without hitting usage limits.
Who can redeem AI promo codes?
AI promo codes are only relevant to users who have received a valid promo code.
- Promo codes can be redeemed on any team or organization plan with AI features turned on.
- Promo credits are granted at the user level, meaning only the person who redeems the code can use the credits.
- Your plan or seat won’t change when you redeem a promo code.
How do I redeem an AI promo code?
To redeem an AI promo code:
- Open the redemption link you received. It will look like:
https://figma.com/promo/ai/<your-code> - If you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in to your Figma account.
- After logging in, you’ll see a modal where you can:
- Select an AI-enabled plan
- Review how many credits you’ll receive
- See when the credits will expire
- Confirm redemption and agree to the terms by clicking Redeem credits.
- Once successful, you’ll see a confirmation message and can start using your credits
Your credits are available immediately after redemption.
When do promo credits expire?
Promo credits expire on the date shown during redemption and in your AI balance.
After this expiration date, any unused promo credits can no longer be used.
How do I check my AI credit balance?
To see your AI credit balance:
- Open any Figma file.
- Click the Main menu.
- Select the AI balance option to see how many credits you have, including any promo credits and when they expire.

Why can’t I redeem my code?
You may see an error if:
- The code has expired
- You’ve already redeemed the code
- You’re trying to redeem it on a plan where AI is disabled
I need help with my promo code.
If you’re experiencing issues redeeming your promo code:
- Double-check that you’re logged into the correct account.
- Make sure you’re selecting an AI-enabled plan.
If you’re logged into multiple Figma accounts, you may occasionally be redirected into a different account than the one you intended to use. In this case:
- Log out of your other Figma accounts, or
- Clear your browser cookies, then log back into the correct account and try redeeming the code again.
If problems persist, contact Figma’s support team and include:
- The promo code (if possible)
- The plan you’re trying to redeem on
- A screenshot of the error message
