Find and use skills from the Figma Community

A skill is a reusable set of instructions for the Figma agent that helps you achieve a repeatable workflow without having to rewrite long prompts or re-explain conventions every time. They teach agents specific Figma workflows: the steps, the order, and the conventions.

Use skills as shortcuts for common workflows, to automate busywork, and to dive deeper into critical problem solving. To name a few examples: 

• Updating components and creating documentation for your design system
• Summarize comments from a design critique so you can move forward with analysis and decision making
• Auditing assets and facilitating handoff
• Polishing the UI with design system standards and accessibility checks

Everywhere the Figma agent is supported, such as Figma Design and Figma Make, custom skills enable the agent to perform tasks that ease how you work, like reviewing content or checking a UI against your team’s design standards.

Find skills from the Figma Community

See what other Figma users have built and shared from the Figma Community.

To find skills in the Community:

1. From the file browser, click Community in the right sidebar. You can also go to figma.com/community in the browser.
2. Open the Extensions dropdown and select Skills. You can click on the subcategory pills to narrow your search.
3. Click on a skill to open its page and view more details.

Try a skill from the Community

One you’re viewing a skill’s Community page, you can click the Try in button and select a file you want to use the skill in.

Save a skill from the Community

You can also Save the skill for later. You’ll be able to find this skill by from your Make files and anywhere the agent is available. Learn how to retrieve skills you’ve saved from the Community and use them in your file.

If you see a skill in the Figma Community that you want to change and customize to fit your specific workflow, find the instructions on the skill’s page and click Copy to clipboard. From there you can paste the text into your desired text editor and revise it to suit your needs before adding the skill to the Figma agent or Figma Make.

Browse saved and available skills

You can browse the complete list of skills you have access to—that is, the skills created by you, your team, or your organization, or skills saved from the Figma Community— from Make files and any file where the Figma agent is available.

To find saved and available skills, you’ll need to open the manage skills modal:

1. From a chat, click Add context > Skills > Manage skills.
2. From the manage skills modal, use the search bar or the tabs at the top to find skills Created by you, your organization, a specific team, or skills saved from the Figma Community.

Invoke a skill

You can use a skill in Figma Make and from any file where the Figma agent is available. To use a skill, you must invoke the skill. Invoking the skill manually ensures the agent uses it during a step in a conversation. To invoke a skill, enter slash commands in the prompt box.

If you prefer, you can also select a skill from the list of skills you've created:

1. In a chat, click in the prompt box.
2. Select Skills, and then Use skills.
3. From the list of skills, select the skill you want to use.
4. Click  Send.
