Explore Figma Make
Figma Make was released in open beta at Config 2025. It is currently rolling out to individuals with Full seats on all paid plans in the coming weeks. Learn more about what's included in the beta.
What is Figma Make?
Figma Make is an AI-driven, prompt-to-code tool that lets you bring ideas and existing Figma designs to life as functional prototypes, web apps, and interactive UI. Through conversation, you can ideate, iterate, and improve your functional prototypes and web apps.
Use Figma Make to:
- Preview the look and feel of your designs in a functional form
- Turn proposals and ideas into prototypes to help hone your product approach
- Explore a variety of solutions for a problem you're trying to solve
Figma Make provides several features that make it easy to transform your Figma designs into functional prototypes:
- Attach your existing Figma designs, components, and Community content to your prompts
- As you continue a conversation, point to specific parts of the preview that you want to improve
- Collaborate with your team in the same conversations, and simultaneously modify the generated code
- Share previews of your functional prototype or web app with other people
- Publish your functional prototype or web app as a website with a dedicated URL
Find your way around
Figma Make offers a straightforward interface to help you start generating prototypes from your designs as quickly as possible. Figma Make has two primary areas: the AI chat, where you can prompt the model, and the preview, where you can see a working version of your app and edit the code.
Chat with AI
The AI chat in Figma Make is where you'll share Figma designs and images, converse with the model to generate your functional prototype or web app, and iterate by prompting.
Bring your design to Figma Make
To use your existing designs to generate an app, click Attach Design and select the design you want to use. You can attach more than one design to help give the model more guidance.
You can also paste frames and components from your designs directly into the AI chat.
Use images to create with Figma Make
Have an idea that's not in a design file yet? Provide images in the AI chat to get your app started. To use an image, click Attach image and select the image you want to add, or paste the image directly into chat.
Guide the AI with conversation
Have inspired ideas or instructions you want the model to follow? Just write them in the AI chat and work iteratively with Figma Make to bring those ideas to life.
Iterate with conversation and the edit tool
Improving your functional prototype or web app is as simple as continuing the conversation in the AI chat. You can keep attaching designs, images, and typing into the prompt box to iterate on the result of your conversation.
You can also use Figma Make's edit tool to point to specific parts of your functional prototype or web app and make direct changes. Depending on the element, you can do things like change padding, margins, colors, text properties. You can also use the Edit tool to prompt the specific changes you want to see.
Create functional prototypes, web apps, and interactive UI
Ready to get started? Check out Create and edit a functional prototype or web app, where you'll find all the details to help get you started generating with the AI chat.
Once you have your functional prototype or web app, you can also view it in a dedicated, fullscreen preview, similar to Figma Design prototypes.
Collaborate on and share functional prototypes and web apps
After you've created a functional prototype or web app, you can share it with your teammates or anyone on the web.
You can share the preview of your functional prototype or web app with anyone you want, using the granular permissions to control access and keep your concepts safe.
Then, when you're ready, publish your functional prototype or web app to the public web with its own dedicated URL courtesy of Figma, or assign a custom domain that you own.
Permissions in Figma Make
Your permissions determine what actions you can take in Figma Make files and whether you can make changes to a functional prototype or web app.
Sharing Figma Make files during the beta
Only people in the Figma Make beta are able to create, interact with, and view Figma Make files. If a Figma Make file is shared with someone who is not yet a part of the beta, they will see a 404 error page.
File owners and anyone with the can edit
permission for a Figma Make file can publish the file to the public web. Once Figma Make files are published as functional prototypes or web apps, they will be available on the public web. However, visitors to the site cannot access the Figma Make file that was used to publish the site.
Creating files
To create Figma Make files, you must have access to the Figma Make beta and a Full seat on a paid plan.
People with a Collab, Dev, or View seat are able to view Figma Make files that are shared with them. They can duplicate files, but won't be able to make changes to the duplicates.
