In March of 2026, Figma introduced ways to purchase additional AI credits. Since then, we’ve continued to invest in token efficiency, improved our first-party models, and shipped several new AI features in free beta.
To help teams incorporate these AI features into their workflows, Figma is updating our AI credit add-ons to include more credits for the same cost. This change went into effect on August 25, 2026.
In a few weeks, we're also moving Weave tools and the agent in Figma Design from open beta to general availability, at which point they'll begin consuming AI credits similar to other AI features. Once we have a specific date, we will update this article with that information.
This article answers common questions about both changes.
Note: See How AI credits work and Manage AI credits for the full mechanics of how credits are assigned, consumed, and purchased.
AI credit add-ons now include more credits
Do I need to do anything to receive the new credit amounts?
No. If you already have an ongoing AI credits subscription or pay-as-you-go billing enabled, this update applies automatically. You don't need to change your settings, repurchase, or contact support.
Is the cost of my AI credit add-on subscription changing?
No. You're getting more AI credits at your current subscription and pay-as-you-go cost—2x more credits on the Professional plan, and 1.6x more credits on the Organization and Enterprise plans.
When does the new credit amount take effect?
On all plans, your existing subscription and pay-as-you-go credits were updated on August 25, 2026.
How will these updates be reflected on my invoice?
For AI add-on subscriptions:
Since the number of AI credits included in your existing subscription is increasing, Figma needs to adjust the AI credit package on your invoice. Here’s how that shows up on your invoice, depending on your invoice status when the update takes effect:
- If your next invoice hasn’t been issued yet: your upcoming invoice will show your new package’s higher number of AI credits, at your same subscription price.
- If you already received and paid an invoice showing the old AI credits amount: your upcoming invoice will include an adjustment line moving you to a new package with a higher number of AI credits. We'll also add an adjustment to that invoice to account for what you already paid under your old package, so there is no change in net cost.
- If you have already received an invoice showing the old AI credits amount but haven’t paid it yet: your upcoming invoice will include an adjustment line moving you to a new package with a higher number of AI credits. We'll also add an adjustment to the previous unpaid invoice, so there is no change in net cost.
In all scenarios, your total cost stays the same, only the number of AI credits included at that price is increasing.
For pay-as-you-go billing:
Pay-as-you-go credits are automatically charged to your next invoice. There are no changes to your monthly spending limit as a part of this update. You will just be able to use more credits before hitting your spending limit.
Where can I see current AI credit pricing?
You can see pricing for AI credit subscriptions and pay-as-you-go billing from your admin dashboard.
- From the file browser, select the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click View usage.
- Click Add credits or Manage credits to view the different subscription tiers.
What are seat credits, and are they changing?
Every seat on every Figma plan includes a monthly allocation of seat credits, meant to give you room to try and explore AI features. Seat credits aren't changing as part of this update—the amount you get with your seat is staying the same.
If you use AI regularly as part of your day-to-day work, your admin can purchase additional AI credits through an ongoing subscription or pay-as-you-go billing so you're able to use Figma’s AI features in your everyday workflows. Learn more about managing AI credits.
Weave tools and the agent in Figma Design are becoming generally available
What's changing for Weave tools and the agent in Figma Design?
Weave tools and the Figma Design agent are moving from open beta to general availability in a few weeks. Once they're generally available, using them will draw from the same AI credit pool as every other Figma AI feature, including Figma Make.
When will these features become generally available?
The agent in Figma design and Weave tools are becoming generally available in a few weeks. Once we have a specific date, we will update this article with that information. We’ll let you know before credit consumption begins.
How many credits will these features consume?
Weave tools and the agent in Figma Design are free to use during their open beta, so they don't consume credits yet—but they will once they become generally available.
Once generally available, usage of Weave Tools and the agent in Figma Design will draw from the same credit budget as your other generally available AI tools like Figma Make.
- Weave tools will have set credit costs per tool, similar to Figma's other AI image tools.
- The agent in Figma Design will work like Figma's other agentic AI features (such as Figma Make). Credit usage will vary based on the complexity of your prompt, the actions the agent takes to complete it, and any context you provide, like connected libraries or attached files.
Once we have more information on credit consumption details, we’ll update the How AI credits work article.
Can I get data on how much my team has used these features while in beta?
On the Organization and Enterprise plans, you can download a CSV of your team's free AI beta usage to help you forecast how many credits these features may consume once they're generally available. As a reminder, credit usage for these features depends on various factors and is subject to change.
To download the CSV:
- From the file browser, click the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click View.
- In the AI credits dashboard, hover over Credits used in beta not included.
- Select Download CSV.
- When the export is ready, you'll receive an email with the CSV file.
The CSV shows one row per user per metering period, including free beta credits used (total and by product), credit allowance, and billing group, if any. Learn more about viewing usage data for AI features in beta.
What happens to the credits I would have used during the beta?
Using Weave tools and the agent during their open beta period is free and doesn't consume any AI credits. These features will only start consuming AI credits once they are out of beta.
