Available on paid plans
On the Professional plan, team admins can purchase and manage paid AI credits.
On the Organization plan, organization admins can purchase and manage paid AI credits.
On the Enterprise plan, organization admins can purchase AI credits. Organization and billing group admins can manage access to paid AI credits.
AI credits are used to run AI actions in Figma. As an admin, you can monitor how your team uses AI credits, understand when people are hitting limits, and choose whether to purchase additional credits to prevent interruptions.
How AI credits work
Figma AI uses a credit system that’s shared across AI features and products. Every seat includes a monthly allocation of AI credits, and the number of credits depends on your plan and seat type.
If your team’s usage exceeds the credits included with seats, admins can purchase additional credits at the plan level through an ongoing subscription and/or pay-as-you-go billing.
Plan-specific details
- Organization and Enterprise plans will have access to both the ongoing credits subscription and pay-as-you-go billing starting March 11, 2026.
- Professional plans will have access to the ongoing credits subscription starting March 11, 2026. Pay-as-you-go billing will be available in May 2026.
- Figma for Education and Figma for Government plans have additional plan-specific considerations for how AI credits are allocated and purchased.

Seat credits
Every seat in Figma includes AI credits. These seat credits are assigned to individual users.
Seat credits:
- Belong to an individual user
- Reset monthly
- Don’t roll over
- Can’t be shared or transferred between users
Credits do not represent legal tender, currency, or stored value, and are not redeemable for monetary value. They can only be used for Figma AI features.
| Starter plan* | Professional plan | Organization plan | Enterprise plan | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Full seats | 500 credits per month | 3,000 credits per month | 3,500 credits per month | 4,250 credits per month |
| Dev, Collab, and View* seats | 500 credits per month | 500 credits per month | 500 credits per month |
*Starter plan users or users with a View seat also have a daily limit of 150 credits. If a user reaches a daily limit, they can continue using AI features the following day.
Note: Full seat limits will be enforced starting on March 18, 2026.
Credit limits are currently enforced for Starter and Education plans, as well as View, Collab, and Dev seats on paid plans.
Purchase additional credits
Admins have two ways to purchase additional AI credits if your team exceeds the AI credits included in your plan.
- Ongoing subscription: Purchase a monthly package of credits for your plan. When a user reaches their seat credit limit, usage draws from the subscription credit pool.
- Pay-as-you-go billing: Only pay for credits as you use them, up to a monthly spending limit. Charges are added to your next invoice.
Admins can disable access to additional paid credits for individual users.
You can use these options together, or choose only one:
- If you purchase the ongoing subscription, users can continue using AI after they hit their seat limit until the subscription credit pool runs out.
- If you enable pay-as-you-go billing only, users can continue using AI after they hit their seat limit. Any additional credits used will be billed on your next invoice.
- If you use both, subscription credits are used first. Pay-as-you-go kicks in only after the plan exhausts the subscription credit pool.
Example
Twigma purchases an ongoing subscription and enables pay-as-you-go billing.
- Jeanie, a designer, reaches her seat credit limit.
- Her usage first draws from Twigma’s subscription credit pool.
- Later in the month, the subscription credits run out.
At that point, Jeanie’s AI usage switches to pay-as-you-go billing, counting toward the admin-defined spending limit. Jeanie doesn’t need to take any action—this switch happens automatically.
Ongoing subscription
Additional credits can be purchased through an ongoing subscription and are pooled at the plan level. Seat credits are always used first. If a user reaches their seat credit limit, they draw from subscription credits (if available and enabled for them).
Subscription credits reset monthly and don’t roll over to the next period. The price per credit decreases as more credits are purchased.
To purchase subscription credits:
- From the file browser, select the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click View usage.
- Select + Add credits.
- In the modal, click Add credits.
- Choose a monthly credit tier.
- Review the purchase details, then click Confirm to complete checkout.
Ongoing subscription charges are added to your next Figma invoice.
To update your AI credits subscription tier:
- From the file browser, select the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click Manage.
- Select Manage credits.
- In the modal, click Manage on the Monthly credits section.
- Update the number of credits you’d like on your subscription, and click Review and confirm to complete your purchase.
On Organization and Enterprise plans, you can only downgrade or cancel during the 30 day renewal window prior to your plan’s annual renewal date.
For more details on the AI subscription billing, select your plan below.
On the Professional plan, the AI credits subscription is a month-to-month subscription, even if your plan is on annual billing.
- Charges are added to your next Figma monthly invoice.
- If you purchase the AI credit subscription partway through a billing cycle, charges are prorated for the remainder of the current month.
- The subscription automatically renews each month until you change or cancel it.
With a monthly subscription, you can make changes at any time:
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the current month.
- Downgrades or cancellations take effect on your next monthly billing date.
On the Organization and Enterprise plans, the AI credits subscription is an annual subscription that aligns with your existing Figma contract term.
- If you purchase the AI credits subscription partway through your billing period, the cost is prorated for the remainder of your annual term.
- Charges are added to your next quarterly invoice.
- The AI credits subscription remains active for the rest of your current contract term.
You can:
- Upgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated for the remainder of your billing cycle.
- Downgrade or cancel only during the 30-day renewal window prior to your plan’s renewal date. Learn more about making adjustments at your plan renewal date.
Note: If your Organization plan is billed under a custom order form contract, your AI credits subscription becomes part of your contracted annual spend. This means you may only be able to change your subscription by signing a new order form. We’ll send reminder emails ahead of your renewal to help you plan.
Pay-as-you-go billing
Note: Pay-as-you-go billing is available on Organization and Enterprise plans starting March 11, 2026. Support for Professional plans will be added in May 2026.
Pay-as-you-go billing lets admins pay for additional AI credits used beyond available seat and subscription credits, up to a monthly spending limit. Pay-as-you-go credits are automatically charged to your next invoice at the per-price credit at the time of enablement.
To enable pay-as-you-go billing:
- From the file browser, select the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click View usage.
- Select + Add credits.
- In the modal, click the link to pay as you go instead.
- Set a monthly spend limit.
- Click Review and confirm.
Charges appear as pay-as-you-go usage on your next invoice.
You can enable, disable, or adjust your pay-as-you-go spending limit at any time. To adjust your pay-as-you-go billing settings:
- From the file browser, select the Admin tab.
- In the AI credits section, click Add credits.
- In the modal, click Manage on the Pay as you go section.
- Adjust the slider to change your monthly maximum spend amount, or select disable pay as you go to disable it.
- Click Review and confirm.
When you adjust your pay-as-you-go settings, the following applies:
- Changes to your monthly spending limit take effect immediately.
- If you lower your spending limit below the amount already accrued in the current month, additional pay-as-you-go usage will stop right away.
- Any pay-as-you-go credits already used during the current month will still be billed on your next invoice, even if you lower your spending limit or disable pay-as-you-go.
Example
Your monthly pay-as-you-go limit is set to $500.
Midway through the month, your team has already accrued $450 in pay-as-you-go usage. You decide to lower your limit to $300.
Because changes take effect immediately:
- Your plan won’t be able to accrue any additional pay-as-you-go charges for the rest of the month.
- The $450 already used will still appear on your next invoice.
Manage paid credit access for individual users
Admins can control who is allowed to use paid credits (the ongoing subscription and/or pay-as-you-go billing, depending on what you’ve purchased for your plan). This can help you manage costs by limiting paid usage to specific people or teams.
Example
Twigma allows subscription credits and pay-as-you-go for most of the team, but disables paid credit access for interns.
When Noah (an intern) reaches his seat credit limit, he’ll see an in-product message letting him know he’s out of credits. He won’t be able to use AI again until his seat credits reset, even though paid credits are still available for others.
To update paid credit access for an individual:
- From the file browser, click the Admin tab.
- Select the People tab.
- Select a user.
- In the AI credit usage section of the side panel, enable or disable the Paid credit access enabled toggle.
Note: You can also update an individual’s paid credit access from the AI credits dashboard, by hovering over a person’s row and selecting More > Remove access to paid credits.
Billing group admins can enable or disable paid credit access for members of their billing group from their billing group dashboard using the same Paid credit access enabled toggle.
To update paid credit access in bulk:
- From the file browser, click the Admin tab.
- Select the People tab.
- Select multiple people using the checkboxes.
- Use the bulk actions menu to enable or disable Paid credit access.
Respond to credit requests
When a user runs out of AI credits and can’t complete an AI action, they’ll see an in-product message. If your plan hasn’t purchased additional paid credits, users may also see an option to request more credits.
Note: Full seat credit limits will be enforced starting on March 18, 2026. Until then, Full seat users won’t see the option to request more credits. View, Collab, and Dev seats can request more credits once they reach their seat limit.
Requests don’t automatically purchase credits or change any billing settings.
When someone requests credits, admins are notified via email and via their file browser notifications.
As an admin, you can use this request as a signal to review usage and decide what action (if any) makes sense for your team. Open the AI credits dashboard to review overall usage across your plan.
Depending on what you see, you may choose to:
- Upgrade the user’s seat (for example, from View, Collab, or Dev to Full) if they need a higher monthly credit allocation.
- Purchase an AI credits subscription if your team is consistently reaching seat limits.
- Enable pay-as-you-go billing to allow continued usage beyond seat and subscription credits.
- Wait until credits reset, if the usage appears temporary and you don’t want to expand paid access.
If you take action to add or increase paid credits, users will be unblocked automatically once credits are available.
Track usage in the admin dashboard
On paid plans, admins can track AI credit usage across their plan in the admin dashboard.
To view AI usage:
- Open the file browser by logging in to your account at figma.com. If you’re in a file, click the Figma menu > Back to files.
- Click Admin.
- In the AI credits section, click View.
Note: You can also access the AI credits dashboard from Admin > Billing.
You can use filters to narrow results by seat type or billing group. Hover over a user’s seat credit usage to see how many credits they’ve used.
What you see in the AI credits dashboard depends on whether your plan has purchased additional AI credits. Select a tab below to learn more about each view.
