Before you Start
Who can use this feature
Available on any plan
Anyone with can edit access to a file can add audio to the timeline
You can import audio files from your computer to use in your animations. Figma Motion supports the following audio file formats: AAC, MPA, MP3, and WAV.
Add an audio track to the timeline
- Locate the file on your computer.
- Drag and drop the file onto a frame or the Figma Motion timeline.
- Click and drag the audio track left or right to reposition it in time.
Change the volume of an audio track
You can control the playback volume of an audio track using the slider in the Audio section of the right sidebar. You can also mute a region entirely by right-clicking on the layer and selecting Mute audio or by clicking the eye icon next to the layer name on the timeline.
Split an audio track
You can split an audio track into separate regions to sync sounds with specific moments in your animation, or to remove part of a clip without affecting the rest.
To split an audio track:
- Move the playhead where you want to split the track.
- Right-click on the track and choose Split audio at playhead or use the keyboard shortcut:
- Mac: Option K
- Windows: Alt K
- Drag the new region to a different point in time, or press Delete to remove it from your animation.
