Invite viewers or editors to a team
Before you start
Who can use this feature
Supported on any team or plan
Any team member can invite collaborators to a team. Members can invite others at a permission level equal, or less than their own.
Teams are shared workspaces where you can create resources, and collaborate on files and projects. Invite your co-workers and co-conspirators to your team to make the most of the collaborative design process in Figma.
Control how collaborators interact with your team with permissions. There are two main permission levels in a team: can view (viewers) and can edit (editors). Learn more about permissions in a team →
People can only invite other members at a permission level equal to, or less than, their own permissions.
- Editors can invite others to the team as Viewers or Editors.
- Viewers can only invite other Viewers to the team.
Tip! You can also invite people to individual files or projects within your team. Figma includes any Editors on individual files or projects in your team's subscription.

Billing considerations
If you're adding new editors to your team, or files and projects in your team, your monthly billing will increase. This includes anyone you upgrade from a viewer, or that you grant Admin access.
If you are replacing an existing editor, and the total number of editors won't change, there won't be any extra costs.
Professional teams
You can add more editors to your team, whether you are on a monthly or annual subscription.
If you're on a monthly subscription, Figma will include new editors in your next month's subscription. Admins can view details of the team's next invoice on the Admin Dashboard.
If you're on an annual subscription, Figma will charge you for those editors on a monthly basis. This means you will have an annual plan, and a monthly plan for your extra editors. We refer to this as "co-terming". You can include those extra editors in your annual subscription when you renew your annual subscription.
Alternatively, you can reach out to the Figma support team (support@figma.com) and ask to add editors to your annual subscription. This is a manual process, which you would need to repeat each time you want to add extra editors to your subscription.
For any editors you add to your annual subscription, Figma will charge you a pro-rated fee. This covers each editor you add for the rest of your annual billing period.
Figma Organizations
Figma bills all Organizations on an annual subscription. Organization members can invite new Editors or upgrade existing users at any time in the annual subscription.
To account for any new Editors in the Organization, Figma performs a true-up every three months.
