Who can use this feature
Available on the Starter and Professional plans
Any member of a plan can invite additional users with a View seat
You can invite people to your Figma Starter or Professional plan by email or with a plan invite link.
When someone accepts an invite, they join as a plan member. Being a plan member doesn't automatically give access to all folders and files—what they can see and edit is controlled by your folder and file sharing settings.
Note: This article focuses on inviting users to your Starter or Professional plan.

Invite by email
Use email to invite someone directly.
If you are an admin, you can set their seat type before they join.
- Open the file browser by logging in at figma.com. If you're in a file, click the Figma menu > Back to files.
- Select All folders from the left sidebar.
- Click Share.
- Select Invite by email.
- Enter the person's email address and set their seat type.
- Click Invite.
Invite with a plan invite link
A plan invite link lets anyone with the link join your plan without needing a direct email invite. This is useful for inviting groups of people at once.
People who join via link are automatically assigned a View seat. Admins can change their seat type after they join.
Note: Members who join via link can create top-level folders in your plan, even with a View seat.
- Open the file browser by logging in at figma.com. If you're in a file, click the Figma menu > Back to files.
- Select All folders from the left sidebar.
- Click Share.
- Select Invite by link and toggle on invite links.
- Click Copy link and share it with others.
Manage plan invite links
Admins can turn invite links on and off, or reset them.
Resetting a link will:
- Create a brand-new invite URL
- Immediately void any old links, so they can no longer be used
You can also turn off team invite links altogether to help keep your team secure and help you ensure that only intended members can join.
- Open the file browser by logging in at figma.com. If you're in a file, click the Figma menu > Back to files.
- Select All folders from the left sidebar.
- Click Share.
- Select Invite by link.
- Click Reset invite links to expire the current link and generate a new one.
- Use the toggle to turn off invite links. You can still invite collaborators by email.
Troubleshooting
Your plan admin may have turned off invite links. Ask an admin to re-enable them.
Being a plan member doesn't automatically grant access to all content. Check the folder and file sharing settings for the content they need to access.
