Guide to the file browser
The file browser is where you can manage your account, organize your work, and browse the teams, projects, and files you have access to.
- Use the file browser on the Starter and Professional plans
- Use the file browser on the Organization and Enterprise plans
Note: The file browser is no longer supported on mobile phone web browsers (such as Chrome or Safari). If you are viewing Figma files on a mobile phone, we recommend using the Figma mobile app. You can still access the file browser using web browsers on a tablet.

Your account overview
From the Account menu, you can manage your account, like adding a profile picture, changing your theme, or updating your account settings.
You can also switch to any other accounts you’re logged into.
Use the search field to find files, projects, and people across all teams in your account.
Figma groups results by resource type. You can use the tabs and filters at the top of the search page to narrow down your results.
The Recents page helps you quickly revisit any files you’ve opened, as well as files and projects people have recently shared with you.
Tip: Right-click on a file in your Recents and select Show in project to open the project page where the file is located.
Your Drafts page contains any files you’ve created that haven’t been moved into a project in a team.
Working in a draft is a great way to experiment with different ideas by yourself. If you choose to, you can always share your draft with other people, or move a file from your drafts into a project.
Your Drafts page also contains the Deleted files tab. This is an archive of any files you have access to that have been deleted, including files you deleted yourself or files deleted by other people. To keep working on a deleted file, you can restore it to its original location, or duplicate it to your drafts.
You get notifications when people mention you in a comment, or invite you to join a file, project or, team.
Click the notifications bell to view and manage notifications you’ve received.
Your sidebar
In Figma, projects and files are grouped within a team. People create teams to organize related work and collaborate with others in a single place.
Figma displays every team you are a member of to the left sidebar of your file browser. Click a team’s name to view all the projects in that team.
Tip: You can re-order teams in your sidebar. Click and drag the team to move it. A black line will appear to show you where you can place the team.
