Common questions
What is Figma Make?
Figma Make is an AI-driven, prompt-to-code tool that lets you bring ideas and existing Figma designs to life as functional prototypes, web apps, and interactive UI.
You can use the AI chat to start with your designs and content from the Figma Community to create your functional prototypes and web apps.
To learn more, see Explore Figma Make.
Note: Figma Make is gradually rolling out in beta in the coming weeks and is subject to Figma’s beta terms →
How do I get access to Figma Make?
Figma Make will be rolling out to users with a Full seat on paid plans starting on May 7, 2025. Figma Make is only available to teams or organizations who have AI features enabled. Admins can toggle AI features on and off for their team or organization.
Figma Make is rolling out in the coming weeks on a team or organization basis, meaning it will become available to everyone in the team at the same time.
Is usage limited?
While in beta, Figma Make is offered as part of the Full seat with no additional costs. Usage limits will be in place and are subject to change. We will let you know in the product once you’ve exceeded your usage limit for a given period, and when your limit will reset.
Once Figma Make is generally available, you will be able to purchase access to higher limits.
As an admin, can I disable Figma Make publishing for my team?

Using Figma Make
Can I edit my functional prototype or web app with Figma Design tools?
While Figma Design tools aren’t directly integrated into Figma Make, you can use the edit tool to point to specific elements of the preview and edit with by prompting, or directly manipulate properties like font style and text padding.
You can also attach your existing designs to your prompts when you’re using the AI chat in Figma Make.
Why is my attached Figma design not working?
There are a few things to keep in mind when attaching designs from a Figma Design File:
- Use frames and components. Designs that you want to paste or attach to the AI chat in Figma Make must either be a component or added to a frame.
- If you have multiple designs you want to use for the same functional prototype or web app, try attaching only one design to a prompt at a time.
For more information, see our best practices for attaching designs and images.
Can I paste links to my files into the AI chat?
No. Instead of pasting URLs to your Figma Design files into the prompt box of the AI chat, you should either attach the design that you want to the prompt, or copy and paste the frame that contains the design itself into the prompt box.
If you try to prompt with a URL, occasionally the model will attempt to interpret the content of the URL itself, not the file it links to. While this sometimes results in the model generating a functional prototype or web app that happens to look similar to your design, generally it results in an unexpected output. Figma Make will not get content from your file via the URL.
Can I collaborate with others in a Figma Make file?
Yes. Figma Make files are multiplayer, allowing users to see when another user is typing or viewing.
Who can see my content? Can I restrict access?
While editing and iterating in a Figma Make file, permissions can be restricted at both the individual or organizational level. When sharing Figma Make files before publishing, you can set viewing and editing restrictions.
The chat history in a Figma Make file is visible to both viewers and editors. It cannot be hidden. Only editors can continue to prompt in the AI chat.
Published functional prototypes and web apps are visible to anyone on the public web.
Can I paste my own code into Figma Make and use prompts for designing?
Yes. Figma Make includes a code editor where you can add your own code. You can then iterate on the code through conversation, including attaching your own designs and images.
Can I change the tone or layout structure of the AI output?
Yes. You can include your preferences in your prompts and the model will adjust accordingly.
Can I give microphone and camera access?
In the context of the preview, Figma Make does not currently support this functionality. However, the published version of your web app is able to request microphone and camera access.
What do I do if I get errors I can’t fix or my prompt keeps timing out?
Figma Make is in beta. If you notice errors or bugs, please submit a bug report. Click Help and resources in the lower-right corner of the screen, then Contact Support. At the bottom of the panel that appears, click Contact Us and select Report a bug from the list of options.

Publishing with Figma Make
What happens when I publish in Figma Make?
When you publish a functional prototype or web app that you created in Figma Make, it is made available on the public web with a dedicated URL. Because the functional prototype or web app is available on the public web, it can be accessed by anyone with the URL. By default, your published functional prototype or web app won’t be indexed by search engines, so discoverability will be limited. You can change the discoverability in the settings for your functional prototype or web app.
You are responsible for content that is published with Figma Make.
Where is my published web app hosted?
Published functional prototypes or web apps are hosted by Amazon Web Services, while the domain and routing is served by Cloudflare.
Is the published web app private or public by default?
After publishing your functional prototype or web app, it will be available on the public web. Anyone with the URL can access it. However, by default, the published functional prototype or web app isn't discoverable by search engines, which limits the ways people are able to find it. You can change the discoverability in the settings for your functional prototype or web app.
Why can’t I publish my Figma Make file?
If the option to publish your Figma Make file is disabled, it’s because your organization has disabled publishing. Contact one of your organization admins to confirm whether publishing is disabled.
Can I track analytics for my published functional prototype or web app?
Figma Make does not include an analytics dashboard. You can add a Google Analytics ID via the settings in a Figma Make file. Other analytics snippets can also be added to the head or body of your published functional prototype or web app in the settings.
Will I be charged separately for hosting?
No. While in beta, hosting is included as a part of your existing paid plan.
Can I use my own custom domain?
Yes, you can use your own custom domain for your Figma Make creation.
Each plan has a custom domain limit, which is shared between Figma Make and Figma Sites. Organization and Enterprise plans can connect as many custom domains needed, and Professional plans can connect 10 custom domains.
Custom domain limits are subject to change after 2025. During the beta, custom domains are free of charge through 2025.
Is SEO supported?
Figma Make optimizes all published files automatically, but does not currently offer specific customizability for SEO optimization.
Can I delete my Figma Make file? What happens to the data after deletion?
If a functional prototype or web app has been published, deleting the Figma Make file will automatically unpublish it. File data is deleted.
