Beta rollout
Figma's AI agent is currently in beta and began rolling out to Figma Design users on May 20, 2026.
Over the coming weeks, we're making this feature available to users on the Professional, Organization, and Enterprise plans. You'll know you have access when you receive an email and see a prompt in your Figma Design files pointing to the new Agents item in the sidebar.
If you're interested in trying the agent as soon as possible, join the waitlist by following the instructions below.
Join the waitlist
If you’re interested in trying Figma's agent during the beta, you can join the waitlist to express your interest. A few details to keep in mind:
- Joining the waitlist does not guarantee access during the beta.
- Access is granted gradually as we evaluate performance and improve quality.
- Depending on how the beta progresses, the agent may become generally available before all waitlist requests are fulfilled. At that point, it will be available to all eligible seats and plans.
- We’re not able to provide timelines for when or if access will be granted.
- Some users will receive access without signing up for the waitlist.
What to expect
- Gradual rollout: Access is granted in waves of Figma teams and organizations.
- Automatic access: Access is rolled out automatically. Joining the waitlist is optional and does not guarantee early access.
- Multiple accounts: If you use Figma with multiple email addresses or accounts, you may receive access at different times for each account. This is normal and expected as part of the gradual rollout.
- Plans and seat types: If you have a Full seat on the Professional, Organization, or Enterprise plans, you can use the agent in all your files. Users with a Collab or Dev seat can try it in Draft files. The agent is not available on Starter, Government, or Education plans.
- Language support: The agent works in multiple languages. Performance is currently best in English, with ongoing improvements planned for other languages.
Note: If an admin has deactivated AI features for your Figma team or organization, the agent won't appear in your account during or after the beta. Learn more about managing AI features.
If you’re not sure whether AI features are enabled, try using another AI feature in Figma Design.
AI credits during beta
The agent is free to use during the beta. AI credits are not consumed for any prompts or actions. This allows you to explore and experiment without worrying about credit usage.
Note: Figma’s AI credit system went into effect for Full seat users on March 18, 2026. Once the AI agent becomes generally available, standard AI credit usage will apply.

Frequently asked questions
When will I get access to Figma's agent?
We're rolling out the agent gradually over the coming weeks. We can't provide specific dates for individual accounts, but all eligible Figma Design users will receive access—as long as AI features are enabled for your account.
To check if AI features are enabled for your account, try using another AI feature in Figma Design.
We’ll automatically send you an email and notify you in your design files when you have access.
Does joining the waitlist guarantee access to the beta?
No. Joining the waitlist indicates interest but does not guarantee access during the beta.
Because the beta is limited, some users may not receive access until the agent becomes generally available.
How do I know if I have access? Will I get notified?
We’ll notify you by email when you have access to the AI agent.
You’ll also see it in your Figma Design files via the Agents icon in the left sidebar. If you don't see this icon, access hasn't been granted for your account yet.
Why do I have access on one account but not another?
If you use Figma with multiple email addresses or are part of multiple organizations, you may receive access at different times across your accounts. The rollout is distributed gradually across all users, and different accounts may be included in different rollout waves.
What does ‘rolling out based on team or organization’ mean?
In Figma, your account is associated with one or more teams or organizations. You can see the name of your team or organization in the sidebar of the file browser. If you are part of multiple teams or organization, you can click to switch between them.
Figma's agent is enabled at the team or organization level, not your account. So some teams or organizations you’re part of may get access before others.
What can I do with the agent? What’s the difference between this feature and Figma Make?
Figma's agent helps you with design work through natural conversation. You can:
Accelerate divergent thinking to push designs farther
- Generate, remix, and refine designs while incorporating your design systems
- Explore styles and layouts to get inspired
Stay in the flow by spending less time on busywork
- Automate bulk edits
- Update and maintain design systems
- Update designs follow design systems best practices
- Fill designs with realistic content in bulk
Summarize existing feedback and get new feedback for your designs
- Brainstorm improvements and edge cases
- Ask for feedback from different personas, like a VP of product or new users
- Summarize comments and take action
From there, you can use Figma Make to turn your designs into interactive prototypes and publish them to the web. Explore Figma Make.
Will I be charged AI credits during the beta?
The agent is free during the beta period. AI credits won't be consumed for any prompts or actions.
Figma’s AI features use a credit system. To ensure everyone can try and use these features, AI credits are included with every seat on every plan. When the agent is generally available, Figma’s AI credit system will apply.
Do I need any special plan or subscription?
The agent is available to the following Figma Design users:
- Full seats can use the agent in all Figma Design files
- Dev or Collab seats can try the agent in Draft files
- The agent is included on the Professional, Organization, or Enterprise plans with AI features enabled
What if I'm experiencing issues or have feedback?
If you encounter issues or have suggestions, here are a few tips that can help:
- Refresh the page and try the request again.
- Try creating a new thread using the button in the top right corner of the chat.
- Report bugs or issues through Figma's standard support channels. Click on any message from the agent to copy the debug details. Including these details in your message helps our team understand the issue.
Tip: You can also use the feedback option in the chat to give a thumbs up or thumbs down on the output.
When will the agent be generally available to everyone?
We don't have a confirmed date for general availability yet. The agent will remain in beta as we gather feedback, improve the feature, and ensure it meets quality standards.
What happens to my beta access when the agent becomes generally available?
Your access will continue when the beta ends and the agent becomes generally available. At that point, using the agent will count towards your monthly AI credit balance.
