Who can use this feature
Available on the Organization and Enterprise plans
Teams are spaces within your organization for organizing folders and files. Use teams to collaborate with others or to keep work organized across your organization.
Any team member can invite collaborators to a team. You can only invite someone at a permission level equal to or lower than your own:
- If you have
adminteam permissions → can invite others withadmin, can edit, orcan view - If you have
can editteam permissions → can invite others withcan editorcan view - If you have
can viewteam permissions → can invite others withcan viewonly
Depending on the team visibility settings, users in an organization may be able to view and join teams themselves.
Note: This article focuses on directly inviting users to teams on the Organization and Enterprise plans.

Invite team members by email
To invite someone to a team in your organization:
- Open the file browser by logging in at figma.com. If you're in a file, click the Figma menu > Back to files.
- Navigate to the team page.
- On Organization plans or Enterprise plans without workspaces enabled, select All teams from the left sidebar, then select a team.
- On Enterprise plans with workspaces enabled, select All workspaces from the left sidebar, then select a team from the Your teams tab.
- Click Share.
- Enter the person's email address and set their team permissions.
- Click Invite.
If the person already has a Figma account, they'll get an email and an in-app notification prompting them to join the team. If they don't have an account, they'll receive an email with a link to create one and join the team.
Note: Inviting someone outside your organization? They'll join as a guest—an external user who can only access the resources you explicitly invite them to.
Depending on your organization's guest membership settings, the invite may require admin approval or may not be permitted at all. These settings are only available on the Enterprise plan.
Troubleshooting
Being in a team doesn’t guarantee access to all folders or files in that team. Check their file and folder permissions.
Your organization's guest membership settings may be restricting external invites. Check with an organization admin, or see Restrict or prevent guest access. (Enterprise only)
